This is the moment that many have been waiting for. Sony has finally unveiled the successor to the PlayStation Portable (PSP) system--and no, it is not called PSP 2 but instead, Next Generation Portable (NGP). Well, at least that's the codename for the new handheld. According to Engadget, NGP will "[...] revolve around five key concepts: Revolutionary User Interface, Social Connectivity, Location-based Entertainment, Converging Real and Virtual (augmented) Reality." and will be compatible with contents currently available on the PlayStation Store (e.g. downloadable PSP games). Additionally, NGP will utilize flash memory cartridge (similar to the Nintendo DS) for its games and other files compatible with the NGP--yeah, UMD is no more--and will feature dual-analog joysticks and four times more pixels than the PSP. Not to mention, NGP's home screen will have, what Sony calls, LiveArea, which offers several vertical navigation home screens--all will be available this holiday.

Keep in mind that you will not be able to access PSN or play online games if you don't upgrade to v3.56, but who cares right? If you do update (for some unknown reason), you will lose the ability to run/install custom firmwares and homebrew applications.

EraseMe v1.1 released. Erase and generate fake activity log

Today, a dev, Chossy, has released this app called EraseMe.  This app has been taken another step foward from Wipe History v2.0.  Wipe History was used to hide any traces of homebrew that has been used on ur PS3 prior to logging onto PSN.  To view our thread about Wipe History v2.0 click here.  EraseMe v1.1 does the same thing as Wipe History v2.0, sends a blank log to Sony.  However, with EraseMe v1.1, it also generates a log filled with fake games played, as to kill any doubts Sony may have about blank logs.  It is recommended that the source code of the program should be modify to generate a unique list of games played.  Click below and visit our forum for more information and to download this program.
