There you have it, Sony has finally responded to the PS3 hacking scene with a new firmware update--adding a minor security patch--with no new features added for end-users to play with. According to developer KaKaRoTo, this new official firmware v3.56 features a new self file called ps3swu.self and a new key that hackers don't know about. Keep in mind that you will not be able to access PSN or play online games if you don't upgrade to v3.56, but who cares right? If you do update (for some unknown reason), you will lose the ability to run/install custom firmwares and homebrew applications.
