Simple File Manager v0.1 released. Copy, move, and delete files stored on the PS3 with ease

Simple File Manager is a PS3 homebrew application designed to help you manage files stored on your PS--copy, move, and delete files. Also, with the built-in pointer, you can move around the application with ease.


Functions:
Allows shortcuts to be defined in SFM_options.ini - named this way so multiple option files for different applications can be stored in the same directory on a usb device.
Allows selection of multiple files for copy/move/delete.
Allows folder size to be calculated and displayed, along with number of files etc.

Controls:
  • In Device list -
  • X - open in left panel
  • O - open in right panel

In left/right panels -
  • L1 - Page Up
  • L2 - Page Down
  • L3 - Add Shortcut to Device list
  • R1 - Get folder size
  • R2 - Select file/folder
  • R3 - Future - Rename function
  • X - Enter Directory
  • O - Up directory
  • /\ - Copy selected files/folders
  • [] - Delete selected files/folders
  • SELECT - Toggle Controls

2nd Controls -
  • L3 - Future - Save shortcuts to ini file
  • R2 - Toggle Selection
  • /\ - Move selected files/folders

Future Functions:
  • Planned to be implemented future in versions (time permitting on which of these get done as some will need investigation to determine feasiblity)
  • Better progress display when copying multiple files.
  • Play media files.
  • Alternative visualisations for audio playback.
  • Rename/Create Directory and other standard file manager functions.
  • Search option
  • Display text files.
  • Edit text files.
  • User configuration in INI file of colour scheme.
  • Ability to display/copy contents of Archives.
  • Allow to be called in single panel mode by other programs and return the selected file/folder to the calling program.
  • Other functions that are requested will be considered.

  3. yes,we want to copy *.rar file to ps3 internal HD..
    Then extract *.rar file..
    Many dvd movies and ps3/ps2 games will copy to ps3 internal HD and run in ps3 HD..

If you use Comgenie's Awesome File Manager: (http://www.jailbreakscene.com/2010/10/comgenies-awesome-file-manager-v06.html) it includes a PC tool and the Comgenie PS3 app. You use the PC tool to split the files (over 4GB) you want. And you use the PS3 app to transfer those split files onto the PS3's internal HDD. It will auto-merge the split files for you. Very nice tool, man.

  5. I konw C.A.F v0.6..
    But we need to split file only for fat32 external HD..
    I want to copy *.rar file(over 4GB)directly from HD(or ps3 bd reader itslef)to ps3 internal HD ..
    Then I can extract the *.rar file (for example BLES00001\*.*\*.* )
    Below it's the *.rar file I try to copy from ps3 reader to ps3 HD with C.A.F..

  6. I see. Unless the games can be compress with WinRAR or 7-Zip down to less than 4GB, I don't think a RAR file over 4GB can be stored on any FAT32 formatted HDD.

  7. A *.rar file over than 4GB can save as *.rar *.r00 *.r01..
    we just need to run the Winrar or 7zip to extract these files...

  8. Ah, I see where you are going with this. It would definitely be a good feature. Considering that games available for download are already in split RAR format.
