The company behind the E3 Card Reader product, E3Diy team, is claiming that now we have an alternative option to PSJailbreak's downgrader. Using their E3 Card Reader product and software (download link available below), you can downgrade any PS3 systems that are running firmware v3.50 (or higher) to any lower firmware versions.

They listed a few advantages over PSJailbreak:
  • Turn your 3.5 PS3 down to any version you wanted, i.e. the 3.41.
  • No time limit
  • No PC software need to download
  • No need to write any emails
  • No need to wait
  • It’s FREE

Requirements:
  • A Computer
  • PS3 system
  • E3 Card Reader device
  • E3 Card Reader software (download link below)

How-to use:
1) Plug the E3 Card Reader into your PC, open Windows Explorer (the "My Computer"), and wait for the E3 Upgrader drive letter to appear.

2) Uncompressed (using WinRAR or 7-Zip) the E3 Card Reader software you had downloaded and proceed to downgrade the PS3 firmware by directly dragging and dropping (or simply copying the E3 Card Reader Upgrader software over to the device) the file into the E3 Card Reader device----like using a USB flash drive, then wait for blue light and red light to stop blinking.

3) Once the lights stopped blinking, unplug the E3 Card Reader device from your PC and plug it into your PS3 and start the downgrading process.

The below steps are assumed because the company did not provide additional steps on how to put the PS3 into Service Mode (You can watch the video to assist in putting the PS3 into Service Mode)

4) Power off your PS3 by unplugging it from the wall. Plug the power cord back into the wall, your PS3's front LED should be red.

5) Press the POWER button followed by pressing the EJECT button (should be about 0.5 seconds apart).

6) The PS3 should start reading the E3 Card Reader and Service Mode should start.
